Plans for Loading and Unloading Students

PLAN FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING STUDENTS AT

MULLINS SCHOOL

BUSES

Our buses are driven in front of the school and into the front circle adjacent the main school

entrance. In doing so, we can assure adequate supervision and separation is maintained

between school bus traffic and other vehicle traffic. All loading and unloading is provided

within the school site. School bus movement on school grounds is only one way. There is no

need for backing and the driver has proper sight distance at all points on the driveway.

Vehicles for student drop off and pick up by pass the front circle of the school and continue to

the large concrete area outside the lunch room. Vehicles then continue (one way) around the

building and exit campus at the Mullins School sign by merging into traffic.

NO VEHICLES PARKED ON THE MULLINS SCHOOL STAFF PARKING LOT WILL

BE ALLOWED TO MOVE BEFORE ALL BUSES ARE LOADED AND HAVE EXITED

THE SCHOOL GROUNDS EACH EVENING.

All of our parking area is paved and curved with suitable drainage. Signs are in position

leading from U. S. 119 showing entrance and exit points to further enable freedom of

movement for our buses.

STUDENT DROP-OFF (morning)

Parents/guardians may drop off students at school at the student pick-up and drop-off area

located outside the Mullins cafeteria. No student shall be dropped off at this area before 7:20

a.m.

After the tardy bell rings (8:05 a.m.), vehicle traffic is directed into the front circle. Students

enter the building through the main entrance and sign in at the front window as tardy to school.

STUDENT PICK-UP (evening)

Students may be picked up after school dismissal at the student pick-up and drop-off area by car only.  Parent pickup cards need to be visible to all faculty and staff upon approaching the student pickup area.

STUDENT PICK UP CARDS

These colored cards are created with a student name and number that MUST match the name and

number of the vehicle picking up the child. If the vehicle doesn't have the correct card then the

child is taken to the main office and the guardian is contacted.
